The Programme for 2007 to 2008

At the Annual Meeting in March, Mrs Heather Austin became our new President.



May 8th. W.I.Resolutions Night. Listen, discuss and vote accordingly. This evening we will have a supper of hot soup with bread rolls. Games and puzzles to follow.

June 12th. Mr Duncan Yeadon from Natureland, Skegness will tell 'A Seal's Story' an audio visual presentation.

July 10th. Potter, Mr John Teanby will bring his potter's wheel and demonstrate the art of throwing a pot some may have the opportunity to try for themselves.

August 7th. We have no meeting night during August but instead a coach outing. This year we visit Melton Mowbray on market day before going on to beautiful Grimsthorpe Castle.

September 11th. 'The Life and Times of Jane Austen' is the subject this evening. Mrs Audrey Chatterton is our guest speaker.

October 9th. Corn Dollies, when and why they originated and how they are made. Mr Andrew Sankey will explain as he demonstrates and we attempt to produce our own versions.

November 13th. Not quite Christmas but with time to practice 'Christmassy Sugar Craft' as demonstrated by Carol Kenwright and Mavis Berry who promise we will take home some item we have made.

December 12th. Our 89th Birthday Celebration


January 8th 2008. Mr Glyn Simpson, well known for his entertaining and imformative productuions will bring us as audio visual presentation entitled 'The River'

February 12th. 'The Many Uses of Herbs' will be explained by Mrs Stafford-Allen.

March 11th. The Annual Meeting Night. Election for Committee and President,

April 8th. We are holding a 'Crafts Evening' Details yet to finalise.
